A Christmas tree is mostly symbolic (of how our forefathers fought for the right to kill trees, so many years ago), and is only secondarily a decoration and a focal point for meetings. But here it serves to pollute our aesthetic observance of a sculpture, an architectural landmark, and the uncoordinated yet appealing dance of figure-skater wannabees.
